Got Questions About Student Support? Chat with Staff at the Open Day

We understand that you and your family will want to know what support is available from day one. That鈥檚 why staff who support our students play a key role in our Open Days, offering guidance, reassurance, and signposting to our specialist support services who can answer your questions.

Whether you're a prospective student with a specific learning difference like dyslexia, a parent wondering about mental health support, or simply curious about how Bangor helps students thrive, here's some of what you can expect.

WELLBEING AND INCLUSIVITY

叠补苍驳辞谤鈥檚 Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity Service are here to support your mental health, emotional wellbeing and鈥痶o address disability related barriers.  

Our鈥痶eam offers confidential help with mental health, wellbeing, disability and inclusion-related concerns. If stress, mental health, or other isses are affecting your learning, reach out early, we鈥檙e here to help you stay focused, motivated, and successful.  

24/7 Student Assistance Programme

We offer confidential access to an external Student Assistance Programme. This 24-hour鈥痟elpline is available to 快活影院 students 365 days a year supporting your mental health and鈥痺ellbeing.

As a student here, you will also get: 

  • Support with reasonable adjustments -  such as exam鈥痑djustments - via a PLSP (Personal Learning Support Plan).
  • Information about disability (including physical impairments, long term health conditions, autism, sensory loss) and the services, support and adjustments that are available.
  • Support for students with specific learning differences (SpLDs) such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and鈥疉DHD.
  • Advice on strategies to make studying and everyday tasks more manageable.
  • We can also advise UK students on applying for the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA), and for students not eligible for the DSA we can advise on possible alternatives.

During the Open Day, drop by our Student Support stand in the Exhibition Hall to speak with staff who will be able to give general advice and support and explain to you how to contact our specialist teams for more specific information.  

FINANCIAL ADVICE AND STUDENT FUNDING

Worried about budgeting or student finance? You鈥檙e not alone. 叠补苍驳辞谤鈥檚 Money Support Team offers:

  • Guidance on student loans and grants
  • Help with budgeting and managing money
  • Hardship Fund and bursary support

If you have any questions about student finance, don鈥檛 miss the Student Finance Talk (check the schedule for location and time).

CAREERS AND EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT

It鈥檚 never too early to think about your future. 叠补苍驳辞谤鈥檚 Careers and Employability Service helps students prepare for life after university with:

  • Drop-in Careers Studio for careers information, resources and support
  • CV and interview workshops
  • Careers fairs and employer events
